Senior researchers

The Henri-de-Rothschild and Yvette-Mayent grants, awarded since 1992 by the Board of Directors of the Institut Curie, fund the sabbaticals of internationally renowned overseas researchers in the laboratories of the Research Centers in Paris and Orsay. Recipients in 2009/2010 were Professor Wolf Dietrich Heyer (University of California, United States), Professor Renato Zenobi (ETH Zürich, Switzerland), Professor Elizabeth H. Blackburn (University of California, United States) and Professor John W. Sedat (University of California, United States).

During these sabbatical leaves of four to nine months, sometimes spread over several years, the participants give several talks, work in the laboratories, meet other scientists, and initiate collaborations with Institut Curie teams.

The Teaching Unit promotes these meetings and exchanges and strongly encourages its students, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows to engage these highly qualified professors in discussion so as to benefit from their experience and know-how and to receive their advice.
