Institut Curie resources are derived from various sources, resulting in a particular financial structure.
Both public and private, Institut Curie resources come mainly from the activities of the hospital or from research contracts, awarded following grant applications. A state-approved foundation, the Institut Curie also receives donations and bequests from the general public.
In 2011, public generosity accounted for 10% of the resources. 78% of the money collected directly funded research work, healthcare, and teaching. Public generosity expedites innovation in research and healthcare, and so benefits patients.
