Les carnets du Musée Curie

Marie Curie had the habit of writing down everything.

As a student at the Sorbonne, Marie Curie transcribed her lessons with application, then the results of her work on radioactivity, of her laboratory experiences and observations. Nothing surprising for a scientist! More surprising are the pages where she keeps track of household expenses, family events, appearance of the first tooth or first steps of her daughters, or intimate thoughts, especially after Pierre's death.

Inspired by these writings, the Carnets du Musée Curie invite us to meander through the history of Pierre and Marie Curie, as well as the history of Irène and Frédéric Joliot-Curie, closely linked to the history of the Institut Curie.

Memoirs or travel diary, each title of the collection is illustrated with historical photographs and documents, fragments of the past, offering a particular and sometimes unusual outlook on the world of research.
