Senior researchers on sabbatical at the Institut Curie
Established researchers
Thanks to the Edmond de Rothschild and Yvette Mayent foundations, the Institut Curie is able each year to award grants to scientists of international renown for a four -to nine- month sabbatical at the Paris or Orsay Research Center laboratories.
During their stay, these foreign professors must give a few lectures on a topic of their choice and visit the site’s laboratories to meet the various research teams.
Institut Curie funding of sabbaticals
Applications: the following documents should be submitted by September 1st:
- a letter from the director of the host laboratory confirming that he/she agrees to the candidate’s sabbatical in his/her laboratory,
- a cover letter indicating possible scientific interactions with the researchers in said laboratory, along with a full curriculum vitae,
- confirmation by the candidate that he/she will give at least 3 lectures (or up to five 5, depending on the length of stay) to the Institut Curie's researchers, on a topic of his/her choice, and that he/she will visit the Orsay laboratories to meet the various research teams.
Applications are assessed by an Institut Curie committee. The names of grant recipients will be published before Christmas so that the grant can be awarded from January 1st of the following year.
Monthly salary (net): approximately 3800 to 4500 € , to which is added the refund of a return trip in economy class from Paris to the airport closest to the recipient's usual residence.
Applications should be sent to:
- Prof. D. Louvard - Institut Curie Research Center Director,
- or directly to the Director of the Research unit where the researcher wishes to spend the sabbatical, who will then forward it to the Research Center Director.
