Description
For this session, we will host Luciano Martelotto. Luciano Martelotto is Associate Professor at the South Australian Immunogenomics Cancer Institute. Recent years have witnessed significant advancements in the field of spatial omics, offering unparalleled insights into the spatial distribution and organization of molecular components within cells and tissues. This rapidly evolving field is transforming our comprehension of the intricate spatial dynamics within biological systems. It enables a more holistic understanding of cellular functions, disease progression, and tissue architecture. In this seminar, I will provide an intuition to some of the leading spatial technologies, aiming to showcase the diversity of tools available and encourage attendees to explore beyond commercial platforms. Furthermore, I will introduce the Global Alliance for Spatial Technologies (GESTALT), discussing its inception and mission. This seminar aims to illuminate the potential of spatial omics technologies in enriching our understanding of biological complexity and fostering innovation in the field.
