Institut Curie Research Center
Institut Curie, France's leading cancer center, comprises a state-of-the-art hospital specialized in cancer treatment and an internationally renowned multidisciplinary research center combining research in cell biology, genetics, epigenetics, immunology, soft matter physics, organic chemistry, and medicinal chemistry. It brings together more than 4,000 researchers, doctors, clinicians, technicians, and administrative staff across three sites: Paris, Orsay, and Saint-Cloud. The institute's facilities include an advanced imaging platform with a wide variety of high-end microscopes, from confocal to super-resolution imaging, imaging of living cells and small animals. Other facilities include single-cell technologies, small molecule and CRISPR screening, high-throughput sequencing, bioinformatics, proteomics and mass spectrometry, antibody technologies and protein purification, nano-SIMS, cytometry, and animal housing. In addition, the proximity to the hospital allows to access to large clinical databases and sample collections and an exceptional environment for pediatric oncology research.
The Genetics and Developmental Biology unit (UMR3215/U934) at Institut Curie is recruiting a Junior Group Leader to develop an independent, ambitious and innovative research program that complements the unit’s scientific expertise. Research conducted within UMR3215/U934 covers a broad range of topics in developmental biology, including stem cells, tissue growth and morphogenesis, epigenetics, genomics, integrated physiology, metabolism and synthetic embryo models. Particular attention will be given to projects aimed at improving the understanding of the mechanisms underlying development, homeostasis and regeneration, using animal models, organoids or other innovative experimental approaches.
The successful candidate will join a leading multidisciplinary and international scientific environment within the Institut Curie Research Center and Université PSL. They will benefit from laboratory space to host a team of 6 to 7 people, as well as a competitive start-up package including the initial salary of the Group Leader.
Education and knowledge
Candidates must hold a PhD and have completed postdoctoral research experience.
Required skills
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to lead an independent, ambitious and innovative research program that fully integrates into the unit’s scientific environment. Applications are encouraged across all areas of developmental biology and related disciplines, including stem cells, tissue growth and morphogenesis, epigenetics, genomics, metabolism, integrated physiology, synthetic embryo models, as well as mechanisms of homeostasis and regeneration. Candidates will be expected to actively contribute to the unit’s collective scientific dynamics and to develop collaborations with teams at the Institut Curie Research Center.
All our opportunities are open to people with disabilities.
