- Bioinformatician engineer
Laboratory
The engineer will work in the Molecular Mechanism of Chromosome Dynamics group headed by Daniele Fachinetti (https://institut-curie.org/team/fachinetti) focusing on centromere dynamics and their role in genome instability.
The bioinformatics engineer will contribute to uncovering the molecular mechanisms regulating centromere identity, maintenance, and function, including their role in chromosome mis(segregation), aneuploidy, chromothripsis in cancer, through the analysis of high-throughput sequencing and genome-wide datasets. This position involves integrative analysis of WGS, scWGS, RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, Nanopore, and PacBio data to identify genetic and epigenetic factors that influence chromosome inheritance and genome stability.
A central focus will be the analysis of centromeres in the context of genome instability during development and cancer progression, including i) the role of centromere dynamics and aneuploidy in neuroblastoma onset and ii) how chromothripsis contributes to centromere dysfunction driving tumorigenesis.
The engineer will work closely with experimental biologists to analyse omics data related to cell cycle progression, replication timing, and chromatin architecture, supporting a multidisciplinary approach to understanding genome maintenance and instability.
