Fanny Orlhac a obtenu son doctorat en physique médicale en 2015 et sa titularisation auprès de l'Inserm dans l'unité Inserm/Institut Curie U1288 LITO en 2019. Ses recherches portent sur la Radiomique et la compréhension de son potentiels et ses limites pour la prise en charge des patients.
